I just fuckin loved this moment. The fact that to do our jobs the best we can, we gotta tap into that joy, connection with each other, and playfulness. Things have gotten so fancy and non ritualistic and sometimes disconnected from their original purpose, we forget music and art has always had a sacred and pure purpose – we were just sitting around a campfire telling stories about the human experience thru song and expressiong how we felt thru our bodies . Always gotta remind myself that’s what it’s about when I feel tempted to feel pressure or anxious about the “scale” of any of it. It’s not really about any of that . That’s why I’m so proud of the fact that when writing this album it was fully sacred . Fully for ME and my collaborators. We forgot about anybody else outside of the room. Music is so much more than chart numbers, impressing people, or the scale of how many people you reach- it is sacred and a spiritual practice. (as is shakin that ass with your friends 😉)
