  1. okay friends what have we learned from metoo? victims don’t always react to being harmed in linear ways. sometimes it takes time for people to process what has happened. alsooo not for nothing maybe they weren’t cool with taking this picture either, maybe they were – it’s still not the same thing and doesn’t mean they weren’t feeling pressured by their boss who is also a beloved celebrity.

this proves nothing but lizzo having a weird understanding of what is and is not appropriate behavior from a boss to their employees.

edit: just to include this part by the dancers’ lawyer:

The attorney for the accusers, Neama Rahmani, tells us of the smiling pic, “Of course, they wanted to keep their jobs. They had bills to pay just like everyone else but they finally had enough of the abuse. We stand by every claim in the lawsuit and look forward to trial.”

  2. The dancers said they felt pressure to go to these activities so if their main evidence against the dancers is them smiling in a group photos thats not very strong evidence tbh.

The fact that Lizzo thinks this is evidence against the dancers just further proves what a bad person she is.

I’ve been assaulted while cosplaying at a convention before and had to immediately smile for photos afterwards.
Photos and smiles mean nothing. So many victims don’t realize until after the fact that what happened was wrong and it truly takes a moment to fully sink in that you’re not ok with something.

  5. Wow, Lizzo…acting as if it’s a brand new concept to have to suck it up and smile in front of the person who is taking abusing you, especially if they’re the one who pays you.

Appearances mean next to nothing when we’re talking abuse victims. For example, how many couples have we seen, in real life and celebs online, who seemed perfect together only for it to come out that one was being abused or someone cheated? And I know I’ve looked happy and like I was enjoying myself during times when I was deeply depressed. This isn’t gonna cover her ass like she probably thinks it will

  7. Just because someone appears to have fun doesn’t mean they are enjoying it. If it’s not an enthusiastic yes, it’s a no.

I had someone verbally sexually harass me recently, and my initial reaction was to laugh and shake my head, mostly because I was stunned. Once it settled in, I felt grimy and violated.

You can’t use that as evidence.

This is a bad look, Melissa.

When they’ve said they had to act like her best buds or get treated differently? Yeah, this is in line with their story and looks shady of her to release it. (“Well, she seemed like she was having a good time to me…” is a familiar response to sexual harassment, and is usually said with a smirk while they seek a high-five)

  9. Your honor How could it be rape when I have videos of the girl enjoying herself ?! Sure she felt pressured and borderline forced to do so due to the power dynamic but look at that smile. ~ lizo if she were a rapist

This is a terrible idea. This makes Lizzo look bad. She’s blatantly ignoring the consent and BOSS aspect of the whole story

Someone show Lizzo the “consent as Tea” video and every corporate sexual harassment video that has ever existed. Someone needs a fucking refresher on appropriate actions regarding employees

I thought she couldn’t get any lower but here she comes..phew. She’s paying some hefty fees to Marty Singer to let her skeletons stay in the closet.

F*ck Lizzo. I cannot wait for her empire to burn.

And really disappointed and shocked that Beyonce decided to publicly support her.
