I can’t believe like in my mind I’m like this is an 8year old wow I just also think you know Talent like this is So it just doesn’t feel like this anymore like just a really talented child I feel like the children are little they can be easily exploited and Overexposed and over sexualized in the weirdest ways like wearing outfits that like a grown adult would wear and you
Know I don’t I just feel like the talent when you see a talented kid these days it comes with so much more and like it feels like back then it was just like wow this kid is really freaking talented and no one was thinking anything else
You know what I mean wow you guys I’m blown away I’m Blown Away many what a [Applause] Beauty Control Day I mean the connection with the audience the engagement in her eyes she’s got commanding the entire audience Look at the little girls looking at her Oh eight eight this is eight years Old don’t don’t worry about Me so she’s always had the control and the range she she came that way she came that way fresh out of the womb which I’ve said I didn’t think that this was was a talent that was like honed like fostered or or planted like this feels like it was a god-given
Talent and this is pretty close to proof I mean eight eight most children’s vocal cords at eight can’t even you know like can’t she just saying like a a seasoned professional holy smokes all right let’s see who wins I feel like Leanne should win but the other boy was good
Levi understand that you and Leanne met before star sech yes sir we at the show in Fort Worth I about to say they probably sing on the same circuit once in a while and we met there and I thought the best little girl singer in the world I’ve ever heard

Levi and asked him if he wanted to do it with me and he said well I don’t know I probably forgot the words well we went up and worked it up together and we went up and asked Johnny hi on of the country music review in Fort Worth and um he
Said yes we could do it so we did it she’s unbeliev move on Levi all right let’s unbel have to say she spoke with three stars Leanne ryes gets three three quter stars lean R come on over here you wanted to say with a she told definitely see romance here don’t you

Another note-worthy child singer was Billy Gilman. He had a recording contract at age 10 and was nominated for a Grammy at age 12. His career collapsed when his voice changed, but he came back in his 20's by appearing on The Voice, where he finished in 2nd place. His biggest child hits were "One Voice", and "Oklahoma". After The Voice he released "Soldier", among other songs. For the 20th anniversary of "One Voice" he teamed with Home Free for an acapella version (about 2 yrs ago) and now in his 30's his newest release is a bluegrass song, "Roller Coaster". Just pick the age you like best and check him out, I think you'd really like him! If you decide to do "One Voice" however, I'd pick the 20th anniversary version; as a child he really didn't like or understand the song (he was just too young) but as an adult he really got it and does an amazing job.

I worked for Star Search in the NY Talent Office from 90-94. We had some amazing young singers at that time: Leann, Britney, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce was on as part of a girl group Girls Tyme, a few of the kids came from the reformed Mickey Mouse Club. Aaliyah and Alanis Morrisette were on the year before I started.
