They’re never beating those “unable to write good original content” accusations.

  2. What you mean a duo where one of the guys said “themes are for 8th grade book reports” couldn’t properly adapt a complex science fiction novel? The same guys who were famous for directing music videos before they got their big break and filmed a pilot that was so bad they had to recast actors, rewrite and reshoot the entire thing? The same
guys who STILL got lucky that it took off and became a meme show for years before they rushed the ending despite HBO offering them another season? The same guys who ruined their goodwill with fans and got fired from star wars over the while fiasco?

They couldn’t make a good show?

Well I’ll be fucked I was expecting it to be great.

That series should never get into their hands. It’s hard to read as it’s high science.

It goes back and forth in time, rooted in Chinese history and if.i remember, is as difficult to read as GoT.

There’s a part in there (IIRC) Where people dehydrate themselves for centuries? And roll themselves up like mats? To be rehydrated when the rain comes?

Then you have the issues with the walbreakers.

Each book has several complex storylines.

IIRC, at the end, the last walbreaker was weak and couldn’t do what needed to be done so the earth was destroyed. Ultimately, the universe got smaller and smaller so to resource depletion.

3 body problems was an issue of mutual destruction.

That series is a high level science, near impossible to read

8 episodes is not nearly enough time for the first 10%.

I expect they are looking for another GoT but they botched it when they ran out of original material. Even the language used in series 1 is different from series 8.

    My opinion only.

While the earlier seasons of GOT were great they still managed to dumb it down. They’ve always been mediocre writers. Benioff also wrote Gemini man and xmen origins Wolverine which were both absolutely abysmal as well

Good. I will never forgive them for ruining what was, in my opinion, one of the greatest tv shows ever

  6. I’ll beat this drum everywhere: watch the Chinese 40-episode version.  I thought it was great.  Currently reading the novels and it’s a good adaptation in my opinion (from what I’ve read so far).

Game of Thrones was a fluke for them, and it’s clear now that it started to fall apart a few seasons in but the cast and the costume and production design teams carried it. Not surprised to hear this is a flop. They are terrible writers and like so many white men in the industry, refuse to assemble real writers’ room or provide opportunities for people with actual talent to contribute to their projects.

How many times in a row do two white rich dudes need to fail before Hollywood stops giving them massive IP to ruin? I’m just curious..

All the reviews I’ve seen for this are treating it like it’s the second coming or that it’s the worst schlock out there. I have no idea what to believe
