On June 27, 2024, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde attended the presentation of the King Baudouin Foundation Africa Prize at the Royal Castle in Laken. This year, the King Baudouin Foundation awarded its KBF Africa Prize 2024 to the Tanzanian organization "Her Initiative" for their work in promoting the economic emancipation of women, addressing the youth unemployment crisis, and accelerating development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
