On June 25, 2024, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the Leuven Brain Institute (LBI) of the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) in her role as Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. During this visit, which focused on the mental well-being of the elderly, the Queen met patients and caregivers, including the "oud-reach team," a mobile team consisting of a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a nurse, and a social worker that makes home visits to elderly individuals with psychiatric disorders.
