It’s incredible that everyone involved is passing responsibility instead of taking a stand and speaking out against this injustice.  Maybe they had nothing to do with making the decision, but they have an incredible amount of power to reverse it.  I think I’m just done with the Olympics at this point.

I am continually stunned by how forgiving society is of convicted child rapists

This man raped a 12 year old child. A child that would eventually go on to overdose and self-harm.

Yet still there is a woman out there that married him. She studied psychology and trained to become a police officer. She gave him a child. She knowingly had a child with a child rapist. That’s so unforgivable it makes my head spin

The Olympics are a privilege, not a right. Is this really the best the Netherlands has to offer? *This* is who they want to represent them on a world stage? A fucking rapist of children?? I cannot wrap my mind around it

And I won’t go into a separate tirade about how fucking disgusted I am that a grown man gets a *ONE YEAR* punishment for the rape of a child. Both the UK and the Netherlands should be ashamed

  3. Idk what the rules are for fan behavior at any Olympic sports event, but I bet the verbal abuse that Steven van de Velde & his beach volleyball partner play at the Paris Olympics is gonna be VILE!!

You’d think the IOC would have some kind of rule in place to bar child molesters from competing… Seems like a no brainer to me
