all the interesting facts about this movie we are going to give you a detailed review of this movie and we will talk in detail about the technical department music department pre-production filming post production budget and box office collection of this film we will also talk about the story of this film and I we’ll also give you a small review of the story of this film apart from this we will installment in the Disney Fairies franchise produced by Disney TB Studios it revolves around Tinkerbell a fairy character created by JM Barry in his 1904 play Peter Pan or the boy who wouldn’t grow up and featured in subsequent adaptations especially in Disney’s animated works and how she Ventures to the Winter Woods and meets her twin sister perrywinkle who is a frost fairy the film was directed by Peggy Holmes and co-directed by Bobs ganway starring the voices of May whittman Lucy louu Megan Hilty Raven Sim and Angela bartis it also features new cast members who include Matt Lanter Timothy doton Lucy hail and Debbie Ryan while Angelica Houston narrates plot as the fairies make preparations for the oncoming winter Tinkerbell helps her friend Fawn take the animals to the Winter Woods to get them ready for hibernation Fawn warns Tink that fairies from the warmer seasons are forbidden from crossing the border to the woods as the cold can damage their wings a law supposedly instated by Lord milori out of curiosity Tink ignores for’s warnings crosses over and her wings Start to Sparkle before she can investigate further for pulls her back Tink researches sparkling wings but finds the page incomplete the book’s author the keeper lives in the Winter Woods tucking her wings in a coat Tinker Bell hides in a shipment of snowflake baskets she gets picked up by a novice owl who crash lands in the winterwoods and the book falls out of her bag the book is found by Lord milori who has it delivered to the keeper Tink secretly follows to the library and spots the keeper Dewey Periwinkle another winter Fair fairy rushes into the room her wings Sparkle like tinks the two fairies have actually been born from the same laugh making them sisters Perry shows Tink around the winterwoods at Perry’s home Tink builds a fire which eventually causes the floor to melt and crumble beneath them having her wings tucked inside her coat Tink cannot fly and nearly Falls but is saved by Dewey he advises that it is too dangerous for them to be together and the sisters pretend to say goodbye at the border but promised to meet again the next day Tink arrives at the border with an ice powerered snowmaker with the machine keeping her cool Perry crosses over and Tink introduces her to her friends showing her the warm side of Pixie Hollow the machine eventually starts running out of ice and Perry’s Wings begin to wilt Tink and her friends rush her to the Border where they meet Lord meori who takes Perry back to the woods Queen Clarion arrives and explains that she was the one who instated the law Tink and perrywinkle say goodbye to each other forever Lord meori knocks the snowmaker into the stream under the bridge where it gets caught by rocks Tink and Periwinkle are told by Queen Clarion and Lord meori respectively the story of two fairies who fell in love one from the warm Seasons the other from the Winter Woods as their romance grew one of them crossed the border resulting in them breaking a wing a damage that there was no known cure for after this Queen Clarion declared the separation of the warm fairies from the winter fairies in order to prevent any similar incidents from happening again receiving news of an emergency Tink and the queen fly back to the border and find that the snowmaker has been collecting ice from the stream generating snow continuously and causing a blizzard Tink and her friends free the snowmaker but a freeze the will engulf Pixie Hollow begins to spread and will eventually reach the pixie dust tree trying to think of what to do Tink notices that a Periwinkle flower that Perry had covered in Frost is still alive and flies to the Winter Woods as she approaches Perry and her friends tink’s Wings freeze and she crash lands Perry’s friends explain that Frost keeps the warm air inside like a blanket and they return to the pixie dust tree to cover it in Frost the three fairies are soon joined by Lord meori who brings reinforcements and all the winter fairies work to frost as much of the warm Seasons as possible as the freeze approaches Lord malori warns the warm fairies to take cover including the queen whom he gives his cape revealing one of his wings is broken the freeze eventually subsides the pixie dustry is safe and all the fairies celebrate however Tink reveals that she broke a wing while flying into the woods earlier as the sisters say goodbye Tink and Perry’s Wings touch and the Broken Wing heals Queen Clarion and Lord meori kiss revealing themselves as the lovers from the story The warm fairies specific jobs that they’re good at and they have to work together to make the seasons or the world tumbles into chaos to me they’re similar to the X-Men in that each one of them has a very specific power or talent that they use in very particular ways plus Tinkerbell is spunky curious makes mistakes and learns from them Viv is three now and so we were new to the first three Tinkerbell movies which is like being new to reading Game of Thrones you just plow through them and don’t have the agonizing weight of several years in between installments are the benefits of being a late adopter but then you catch up and suddenly you’re forced into an agonizing wait for the next one to come out using this analogy you could say that Tinker Bell the Great Fairy Rescue was our A Dance with Dragons we have been waiting for Secret of the Wings the DVD came out this week October 23rd If you’re looking at my whiteboard or any of my other calendars that I marked yes marked but as Dennis of Los Angeles we are lucky to have the El Capitan the Disney movie theater which does spectacular events surrounding Disney films and makes going to the movies an incredible experience to ITT they ran Secret of the Wings for 2 weeks in early September and before each showing of the film Tinker Bell and perrywinkle the new fairy came out on stage and danced a little number and then they made it snow in the theater Pro tip cover your popcorn I have a whole story about our experience going to see this film it includes a bomb scare an evacuated theater a pixie party cancellation a pixie party UNC cancellation loads of extra time with perrywinkle and Tinkerbell two more trips back to the theater and it ends as it always does with me and my night gown in our kitchen wearing toddler fairy wings that kind of cut off the circulation to my arms dancing around to The Great Divide with my three-year-old anyway Secret of the Wings was worth the wait for us it has that familiar breathtaking getting ready for another season opening that the previous titles share big dramatic sweeping shots of Nature and the fairies doing their jobs to facilitate things complete with a swelling Disney esque song that you just know you’ll be listening to even when your child is not in the car or that could just be me what I totally love if you believe from Lost Treasure in this film we get a look into the change from Autumn to Winter and a look at the icy and sparkling Winter Woods a place forbidden to warm fairies oh but guess who can’t help herself disobeys the rule and crosses the Border I don’t think it’s spoiling things to say that’s right Tinker Bell and from there it gets right into the story no Dilly dallying with Exposition the fairies get ready for winter it’s established that the Winter Woods are off limits boom she tries to go there TDA in the Winter Woods Tinker Bell’s Wings begin to Sparkle and she’s determined to find out why along her Frosty Journey she meets the Lord of winter played by Timothy Dalton doing his best Liam Nissan impression the keeper and several Frost fairies one of these Frost fairies is named perrywinkle and in case you haven’t seen the previews I won’t spoil the surprise the two fairies become fast friends introduce each other to their group of friends Marvel at their cultural differences and eventually find themselves in a situation where they have to try and save Pixie Hollow again I like the Disney fairies I like that Tinkerbell questions Authority she does research she looks for answers and she tries to change things this is a great film for those of you with Littles there’s nothing scary in it unless you have a thing about ice there’s no villain it’s all about the forces of nature the voice acting is quite good Angelica Houston returns with her Regal Queen Clarion Lucy Lou is always hilarious as water talent fairy silver mist and of course I adore Jane horx whose back is fairy Mary it’s also not necessarily just for girls there are boy fairies or Sparrow men too with awesome jobs like wrangling snow owls delivering pixie dust and creating amazing machines if you live in Southern California or are planning a trip to Disneyland this holiday season there’s an extra retreat in the downtown Disney District this week Tinker Bell and Perry Winkle were on hand for the opening ceremony of an ice skating rink it’s $15 for admission and $3 to rent skates if you have a SoCal pass to Disneyland admission is waved on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights you’ll only pay for skate rentals to those of us who miss the idea of snow and ice it’s a lovely way to celebrate the holiday season and Perry Winkle has been a established as one of the major fairies so look for her in the Parks and uh I guess be ready to explain to younger children how a frost fairy can hang out in warm weather I swear to God that I remember loving this movie as a kid along with the first Tinkerbell movie The Lost Treasure and Great Fairy Rescue this was my frozen before Frozen even came out seriously even though this is literally made for a much younger audience I couldn’t get enough of The cutesy Sibling relationship of Tink and Perry but as I finally got older and started re-watching it I have a lot to say about this movie it’s winter in Pixie Hollow where Tinkerbell is guiding some furry friends to the Winter Woods to hibernate however her curiosity gets the best of her when discovering a strange Sparkle in her wings when she enters the woods only for her to be warned about the dangers of The Frigid atmosphere so she wanders into the Forbidden Winter Woods and meets Periwinkle together they learn the secret of their wings and try to unite the warm fairies and the winter fairies to help Pixie Hollow I liked of the World building of the Winter Woods having this very cold ecosystem where the winter fairies live and just as they cannot cross into the temperate Spring Summer and Autumn zones of the rest of Pixie Hollow so can the rest of the fairies not enter the Winter Woods I loved the whole long lost sister that was executed quite well that makes Despicable Me three look like a pale imitation in comparison both were born from the same laugh but Tink was the one who reached the Pixy dust Tree in Pixie Hollow while Periwinkle was lost by the wind and reached the pixie dust trees branch in the Winter Woods the fact that tink’s favorite star is the second star to the right when her and Perry are talking about their favorite things is yet another sign of fan service for the characters Tinker Bell is mostly a lot friendlier than in the first first three films where once again her curiosity gets into the way however she is determined about her sister after she discovers the secret of her wings being similar to Perry’s as for Perry we don’t know a lot about her other than she’s Tink sister and that’s about it she has cool ice powers as Elsa but she is a bit Bland yet does have a charm with her next is jwy he is The Lovable older goofball who ends up being a librarian of some sorts he is kind of the moral tie of the film and is sued to connect the message and the two lands together a lot then there’s Lord mili and Queen Clarion for the former I like that he is very strict but it does not come from a place of needing control for his ego but for the genuine safety of his people I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that him and Queen Clarion had a diance but it is nice enough as for the queen herself I honestly never thought we would learn anything about her who knew she had enough spunk to break the rules and to have a romantic and scandalous relationship this definitely adds a lot to her character and makes her much stronger than I initially thought how can I put this perrywinkle and Tinker Bell’s relationship is comparable to an actual pair of Starcrossed lovers despite the two being sisters though the actual Starcrossed Lovers In Secret of the Wings were meori and Queen Clarion those were like the Romeo and Juliet but when malori tried to cross his wing broke since winter fairies can’t go into warm weather or else they’ll Wilt until die and so on that day Queen Clarion declared that the fairies must never cross the creek also the rest of the cast are just thrown into the Wayside tink’s friends don’t do anything other than Rosetta who has a love interest named sled which was very last minute but hey at least they’re going to get a bit quirky at night at least she rocks with her winter outfit with a fluffy white handmuff that’s an adorable design Clank and Bobble do have a purpose in one scene but otherwise they don’t serve much other than being goofy comic reliefs as much as I love Secret of the Wings being my favorite as it is interesting how they explain the relations between the two characters though I am confused that there are winter fairies but the other seasons do not have designated fairies other than the ministers I also wish that there is more development with the characters the first three films all had largely concrete albeit mostly boilerplate life lessons to impart about the way that Society works and how to be a well-adjusted human being who contributes things and is liked instead of your typical girly girl who just is obsessed with pink as far as character conflicts go though there’s nothing in here that has anything to say about anything else the relationship between Tinkerbell and perrywinkle is established so quickly that it does take and the subsequent narrative cliches are straight out of the Romeo and Juliet handbook which at least amusingly suggests an incestuous reading of the plot though regardless of any subtext it’s important to remain true to your long-lost sibling even if it triggers the end of the world because it’s pretty easy to reverse that anyway isn’t really a usable message yeah their sibling relationship is adorable but it kind of felt a bit rushed at least it was better than how dis despicable me3 handled it the plus side I will be generous and allow the existence of a plus side is that Secret of the Wings is at least as lovely as any of the movies preceding it owing mostly to its winning depiction of winter landscapes which is awfully pretty it being hard to make even CGI trees covered in snow look ugly hell even the rendering is an improvement from their last films and it is clear that Disney tune was feeling more comfortable with CGI by this point the voice acting is pretty good with most of the cast returned with the exception of Kristen chenowith as Rosetta who was replaced with Megan Hilty which gives a damn good take on that character that you wouldn’t believe that they’re voiced by different people because it’s so damn good also Fawn got recast multiple times during those Tinkerbell movies that’s actually crazy to me so overall Secret of the Wings may be my favorite Disney Fairies movie in terms of enjoyment and heck I enjoyed the god soundtrack of this movie The Great Divide totally slaps hard that being said with some issues like the writing at times some of the characters and even the predictable plot that kind of hinders it nevertheless Secret of scandalous relationship this definitely adds a lot to her character and makes her much stronger than I initially thought how can I put this perrywinkle and Tinker Bell’s relationship is comparable to an actual pair of star crossed lovers despite the two being sisters though the actual star crossed lovers in Secret of the Wings were Mei and Queen Clarion those were like the Romeo and Juliet but when Mei tried to cross his wing broke since winter fairies can’t go into warm weather or else they’ll Wilt until die and so on that day Queen CL Maran declared that the fairies must never cross the creek also the rest of the cast are just thrown into the Wayside tink’s friends don’t do anything other than Rosetta who has a love interest named sled which was very last minute but hey at least they’re going to get a bit quirky at night at least she rocks with her winter outfit with a fluffy white handmuff that’s an adorable design Clank and Bobble do have a purpose in one scene but otherwise they don’t serve much other than being goofy comic reliefs as much as I love Secret of the Wings being my favorite as it is interesting how they explain the relations between the two characters though I am confused that there are winter fairies but the other seasons do not have designated fairies other than the ministers I also wish that there is more development with the characters the first three films all had largely concrete albe it mostly boilerplate life lessons to impart about the way that Society works and how to be a well-adjusted human being who contributes things and is liked instead of your typical girly girl who just is obsessed with pink as far as character conflicts go though there’s nothing in here that has anything to say about anything else the relationship between tinabell and perrywinkle is established so quickly that it doesn’t take and the subsequent narrative cliches are straight out of the Romeo and Juliet handbook which at least amusingly suggests an incestuous reading of the plot though regardless of any subtext it’s important to remain true to your long lost sibling even if it triggers the end of the world because it’s pretty easy to reverse that anyway isn’t really a usable message yeah their sibling relationship is adorable but it kind of felt a bit rushed at least it was better than how Despicable me3 handled it the plus side I will be generous and allow the existence of a plus- side is that Secret of the Wings is at least as lovely as of the movies preceding it owing mostly to its winning depiction of winter landscapes which is awfully pretty it being hard to make even CGI trees covered in snow look ugly hell even the rendering is an improvement from their last films and it is clear that Disney tune was feeling more comfortable with CGI by this point the voice acting is pretty good with most of the cast returned with the exception of christen chenowith as Rosetta who was replaced with Megan Hilty which gives a damn good take on that character that you wouldn’t believe that they’re voiced by different people because it’s so damn good also Fawn got recast multiple times during those Tinkerbell movies that’s actually crazy to me so overall Secret of the Wings may be my favorite Disney Fairies movie in terms of enjoyment and heck I enjoyed the god tier soundtrack of this movie The Great Divide totally slaps hard that being said with some issues like the writing at times some of the characters and even the predictable plot that kind of hinders it nevertheless Secret of the Wings is still a worthwhile experience that I recommend Secret of the Wings is a 2012 American animated fantasy film and the fourth installment in the Disney Fairies franchise produced by Disney tune Studios it revolves around Tinkerbell a fairy character created by JM Barry in his 1904 play Peter Pan or the boy who wouldn’t grow up and featured in subsequent adaptations especially in Disney’s animated works and how she Ventures to the Winter Woods and meets her twin sister perrywinkle who is a frost fairy the film was directed by Peggy Holmes and co-directed by Bobs ganway starring the voices of May Whitman Lucy louu Megan Hilty Raven Sim and Angela parties it also features new cast members who include Matt Lanter Timothy doton Lucy hail and Debbie Ryan while Angelica Houston narrates plot as the fairies make preparations for the oncoming winter Tinkerbell helps her friend Fawn take the animals to the Winter Woods to get them ready for hibernation Fawn warns Tink that fairies from the warmer seasons are forbidden from crossing the border to the woods as the cold can damage their wings a lore supposedly instated by Lord Mali out of curiosity Tink ignores for’s warnings crosses over and her wings Start to Sparkle before she can investigate further for pulls her back Tink researches sparkling wings but finds the page incomplete the book’s author the keeper lives in the Winter Woods tucking her wings in a coat Tinker Bell hides in a shipment of snowflake baskets she gets picked up by a novice owl who crash lands in the Winter Woods and the book falls out of her bag the book is found by Lord Mori who has it delivered to the keeper Tink secretly follows to the library and spots the keeper Dewey perrywinkle another winter fairy rushes into the room her wings Sparkle like tinks the two fairies have actually been borne from the same laugh making them sisters Perry shows Tink around the winterwoods at Perry’s home Tink builds a fire which eventually causes the floor to melt and crumble beneath them having her wings tucked inside her coat Tink cannot fly and nearly Falls but is saved by Dewey he advises that it is too dangerous for them to be together and the sisters pretend to say goodby at the border but promise to meet again the next day Tink arrives at the border with an ice powerered snowmaker with the machine keeping her cool Perry crosses over and Tink introduces her to her friends showing her the warm side of Pixie Hollow the machine eventually starts running out of ice and Perry’s Wings begin to wilt tinker and her friends rushia to the Border where they meet Lord malori who takes Perry back to the woods Queen Clarion arrives and explains that she was the one who instated the law Tink and perrywinkle say goodbye to each other forever Lord meori knocks the snowmaker into the stream under the bridge where it gets caught by rocks Tink and Periwinkle are told by Queen Clarian and Lord Mei respectively the story of two fairies who fell in love one from the warm Seasons the other from the Winter Woods as their romance grew one of them crossed the border resulting in them breaking a wing a damage that there was no known cure for after this Queen Clarion declared the separation of the warm fairies from the winter fairies in order to prevent any similar incidents from happening again receiving news of an emergency Tink and the queen fly back to the border and find that the snowmaker has been collect in ice from the stream generating snow continuously and causing a blizzard Tink and her friends free the snowmaker but a freeze that will engulf Pixie Hollow begins to spread and will eventually reach the pixie dust tree trying to think of what to do Tink notices that a Periwinkle flower that Perry had covered in Frost is still alive and flies to the Winter Woods as she approaches Perry and her friends tink’s Wings freeze and she crash lands Perry’s friends explain that Frost keeps the warm air inside like a blanket and they return to the pixie dust tree to cover it in Frost the three fairies are soon joined by Lord meori who brings reinforcements and all the winter fairies work to frost as much of the warm Seasons as possible as the freeze approaches Lord Mali warns the warm fairies to take cover including the queen whom he gives his cape revealing one of his wings is broken the freeze eventually subsides the theater which does spectacular events surrounding Disney films and makes going to the movies an incredible experience to ITT they ran Secret of the Wings for 2 weeks in early September and before each showing of the film Tinker Bell and perrywinkle the new fairy came out on stage and danced a little number and then they made it snow in the theater Pro tip cover your popcorn I have a whole story about our experience going to see this film it includes a bomb scare an evacuated theater a pixie party cancellation a pixie party UNC cancellation loads of extra time with perrywinkle and Tinkerbell two more trips back to the theater and it ends as it always does with me and my night gown in our kitchen wearing toddler fairy wings that kind of cut off the circulation to my arms dancing around to The Great Divide with my three-year-old anyway Secret of the Wings was worth the wait for us it has that familiar breathtaking getting ready for another season opening that the previous titles share big dramatic sweeping shots of Nature and the fairies doing their jobs to facilitate things complete with a swelling Disney es song that you just know you’ll be listening to even when your child is not in the car or that could just be me what I totally love if you believe from Lost Treasure in this film we get a look into the change from Autumn to Winter and a look at the icy and sparkling Winter Woods a place forbidden to warm fairies oh but guess who can’t help herself disobeys the rule and crosses the Border I don’t think it’s spoiling things to say that’s right Tinkerbell and from there it gets right into the story no Dilly dallying with Exposition the fairies get ready for winter it’s established that the Winter Woods are off limits boom she tries to go there Tada in the Winter Woods Tinkerbell’s Wings begin to Sparkle and she’s determined to find out why along her Frosty Journey she meets the Lord of winter played by Timothy Dalton doing his best Liam Nissan impression the keeper and several Frost fairies one of these Frost fairies is named perrywinkle and in case you haven’t seen the previews I won’t spoil the surprise the two fairies become fast friends introduce each other to their group of friends Marvel at their cultural differences and eventually find themselves in a situation where they have to try and save Pixie Hollow again I like the Disney fairies I like that Tinkerbell questions Authority she does research she looks for answers and she tries to change things this is a great film for those of you with Littles there’s nothing scary in it unless you have a thing about ice there’s no villain it’s all about the forces of nature the voice acting is quite good Angelica Houston returns with her Regal Queen Clarion Lucy L is always hilarious as water talent fairy silver mist and of course I adore Jane horox whose back as fairy Mary it’s also not necessarily just for girls there are boy fairies or Sparrow men too with awesome jobs like wrangling snow owls delivering pixie dust and creating amazing machines if you live in Southern California or are planning a trip to Disneyland this holiday season there’s an extra treat in the downtown Disney District this week Tinker Bell and Perry Winkle were on hand for the opening ceremony of an ice skating rink it’s $15 for admission and $3 to rent skates if you have a SoCal pass to Disneyland admission is waved on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights you’ll only pay for skate rentals to those of us who miss the idea of snow and ice it’s a lovely way to celebrate the holiday season and Perry Winkle has been established as one of the major fairies so look for her in the Parks and uh I guess be ready to explain to younger children how a frost fairy can hang out in warm weather I swear to God that I remember loving this movie as a kid along with the first Tinkerbell movie The Lost Treasure and Great Fairy Rescue this was my frozen before Frozen even came out seriously even though this is literally made for a much younger audience I couldn’t get enough of the cutesy sibling relationship of Tink and Perry but as I finally got older and started rewatching it I have a lot to say about this movie it’s winter in Pixie Hollow where Tinkerbell is guiding some furry friends to the Winter Woods to hibernate however her curiosity gets the best of her when discovering a strange Sparkle in her wings when she enters the woods only for her to be warned about the dangers of The Frigid atmosphere so she wanders into the Forbidden Winter Woods and meets Periwinkle together they learn the secret of their wings and try to unite the warm fairies and the winter fairies to help Pixie Hollow I liked of the World building of the Winter Woods having this very cold ecosystem where the winter fairies live and just as they cannot cross into the temperate Spring Summer and Autumn zones of the rest of Pixie Hollow so can the rest of the fairies not enter the Winter Woods I loved the whole long lost sister that was executed quite well that makes Despicable Me 3 look like a pale imitation in comparison both were born from the same laugh but Tink was the one who reached the pixie dust Tree in Pixie Hollow while perrywinkle was lost by the wind and reached the pixie dust tre’s branch in the Winter Woods the fact that tink’s favorite star is the second star to the right when her and Perry are talking about their favorite things is yet another sign of fan service for the characters Tinker Bell is mostly a lot friendlier than in the first three films where once again her curiosity gets into the way however she is determined about her sister after she discovers the secret of her wings being similar to Perry’s as for Perry we don’t know a lot about her other than she’s tink’s sister and that’s about it she has cool ice powers as Elsa but she is a bit Bland yet does have a charm with her next is dewy he is The Lovable older goofball who ends up seriously even though this is literally made for a much younger audience I couldn’t get enough of the cutesy sibling relationship of Tink and Perry but as I finally got older and started rewatching it I have a lot to say about this movie it’s winter in Pixie Hollow where Tinkerbell is guiding some furry friends to the Winter Woods to hibernate however her curiosity gets the best of her when discovering a strange Sparkle in her wings when she enters the woods only for her to be warned about the dangers of The Frigid atmosphere so she wanders into the Forbidden Winter Woods and meet Periwinkle together they learn the secret of their wings and try to unite the warm fairies and the winter fairies to help Pixie Hollow I liked of the World building of the Winter Woods having this very cold ecosystem where the winter fairies live and just as they cannot cross into the temperate Spring Summer and Autumn zones of the rest of Pixie Hollow so can the rest of the fairies not enter the Winter Woods I loved the whole long lost sister that was executed quite well that makes Despicable Me three look like a pale imitation in comparison both were born from the same laugh but Tink was the one who reached the pixie dust Tree in Pixie Hollow while perrywinkle was lost by the wind and reached the pixie dust trees branch in the Winter Woods the fact that tink’s favorite star is the second star to the right when her and Perry are talking about their favorite things is yet another sign of fan service for the characters Tinker Bell is mostly a lot friendlier than in the first three films where once again her curiosity gets into the way however she is determined about her sister after she discovers the secret of her wings being similar to Perry’s as for Perry we don’t know a lot about her other than she’s tink’s sister and that’s about it she has cool ice powers as Elsa but she is a bit Bland yet does have a charm with her next is dewy he is The Lovable older goofball who ends up being a librarian of some sorts he is kind of the moral tie of the film and is sued to connect the message and the two lands together a lot then there’s Lord meori and Queen Clarion for the former I like that he is very strict but it does not come from a place of needing control for his ego but for the genuine safety of his people I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that him and Queen Clarion had a diance but it is nice enough as for the queen herself I honestly never thought we would learn anything about her who knew knew she had enough spunk to break the rules and to have a romantic and scandalous relationship this definitely adds a lot to her character and makes her much stronger than I initially thought how can I put this perrywinkle and Tinker Bell’s relationship is comparable to an actual pair of Starcrossed lovers despite the two being sisters though the actual Starcrossed Lovers In Secret of the Wings were Mei and Queen Clarion those were like the Romeo and Juliet but when Mori tried to cross his wing broke since winter fairies can’t go into warm weather or else they’ll Wilt until die and so on that day Queen Clarion declared that the fairies must never cross the creek also the rest of the cast are just thrown into the Wayside tink’s friends don’t do anything other than Rosetta who has a love interest named sled which was very last minute but hey at least they’re going to get a bit quirky at night at least she rocks with her winter outfit with a fluffy white hand muff that’s an adorable design Clank and Bobble do have a purpose in one scene but otherwise they don’t serve much other than being goofy comic reliefs as much as I love Secret of the Wings being my favorite as it is interesting how they explain the relations between the two characters though I am confused that there are winter fairies but the other seasons do not have designated fairies other than the ministers I also wish that there is more development with the characters the first first three films all had largely concrete orbe it mostly boilerplate life lessons to impart about the way that Society works and how to be a well-adjusted human being who contributes things and is liked instead of your typical girly girl who just is obsessed with pink as far as character conflicts go though there’s nothing in here that has anything to say about anything else the relationship between Tinkerbell and perrywinkle is established so quickly that it doesn’t take and the subsequent narrative cliches are straight out of the Romeo and Juliet handbook which at least amusingly suggests an incestuous reading of the plot though regardless of any subtext it’s important to remain true to your long-lost sibling even if it triggers the end of the world because it’s pretty easy to reverse that anyway isn’t really a usable message yeah their sibling relationship is adorable but it kind of felt a bit rushed at least it was better than how Despicable Me handled it the plus side I will be generous and allow the existence of a plus side is that Secret of the Wings is at least as lovely as any of the movies preceding it owing mostly to its winning depiction of winter landscapes which is awfully pretty it being hard to make even CGI trees covered in snow look ugly hell even the rendering is an improvement from their last films and it is clear that Disney tune was feeling more comfortable with CGI by this point the voice acting is pretty good with most of the cast returned with the exception of Kristen chenowith as Rosetta who was replaced with Megan Hilty which gives a damn good take on that character that you wouldn’t believe that they’re voiced by different people because it’s so damn good also Fawn got recast multiple times during those Tinkerbell movies that’s actually crazy to me so overall Secret of the Wings may be my favorite Disney Fairies movie in terms of enjoyment and heck I enjoyed the guard tier soundtrack of this movie The Great Divide totally slaps hard that being said with some issues like the writing at times some of the characters and even the predictable plot that kind of hinders it nevertheless Secret of crosses over and Tink introduces her to her friends showing her the warm side of Pixie Hollow the machine eventually starts running out of ice and Perry’s Wings begin to wilt Tink and her friends rush her to the Border where they meet Lord malori who takes Perry back to the woods Queen Clarion arrives and explains that she was the one who instated the law Tink and perrywinkle say goodbye to each other forever Lord malori knocks the snowmaker into the stream under the bridge where it gets caught by rocks Tink and perrywinkle are told by Queen Clarion and Lord meori respectively the story of known cure for after this Queen Clarion declared the separation of the warm fairies from the winter fairies in order to prevent any similar incidents from happening again receiving news of an emergency Tink and the queen fly back to the border and find that the snowmaker has been collecting ice from the stream generating snow continuously and causing a blizzard Tink and her friends free the snowmaker but a freeze that will engulf Pixie Hollow begins to spread and will eventually reach the pixie dust tree trying to think of what to do Tink notices that a Periwinkle Flats that Perry had covered in Frost is still alive and flies to the Winter Woods as she approaches Perry and her friends tinks Wings freeze and she crash lands Perry’s friends explain that Frost keeps the warm air inside like a blanket and they return to the pixie dust tree to cover it in Frost the three fairies are soon joined by Lord meori who brings reinforcements and all the winter fairies work to frost as much of the warm Seasons as possible as as the freeze approaches Lord Mali warns the warm fairies to take cover including the queen whom he gives his cape revealing one of his wings is broken the freeze eventually subsides the pixie dust tree is safe and all the fairies celebrate however Tink reveals that she broke a wing while flying to the woods earlier as the sisters say goodbye Tink and Perry’s Wings touch and the Broken Wing heals Queen Clarion and Lord meori kiss revealing themselves as the lovers from the story The warm fairies are able to cross over into the Border by having and they have to work together to make the seasons or the world tumbles into chaos to me they’re similar to the X-Men in that each one of them has a very specific power or talent that they use in very particular ways plus Tinkerbell is spunky curious makes mistakes and learns from them Vivy is three now and so we were new to the first three Tinkerbell movies which is like being new to reading Game of Thrones you just plow through them and don’t have the agonizing weight of several years in between installments are the benefits of being a late adopter but then you catch up and suddenly you’re forced into an agonizing wait for the next one to come out using this analogy you could say that Tinker Bell the Great Fairy Rescue was our a Dance with Dragons we have been waiting for Secret of the Wings the DVD came out this week October 23rd If you’re looking at my whiteboard or any of my other calendars that I marked yes marked but as Dennis of Los Angeles we are lucky to have the El Capitan the Disney movie theater which does spectacular events surrounding Disney films and makes going to the movies an incredible experience to ITT they ran Secret of the Wings for 2 weeks in early September and before each showing of the film Tinker Bell and perrywinkle the new fairy came out on stage and danced a little number and then they made it snow in the theater Pro tip cover your popcorn I have a whole story about our experience going to see this film it includes a bomb scare an evacuated theater a pixie party cancellation a pixie party UNC cancellation loads of extra time with Periwinkle and Tinkerbell two more trips back to the theater and it ends as it always does with me in my night gown in our kitchen wearing toddler fairy wings that kind of cut off the circulation to my arms dancing around to The Great Divide with my three-year-old anyway Secret of the Wings was worth the wait for us it has that familiar breathtaking getting ready for another season opening that the previous titles share big dramatic sweeping shots of Nature and the fairies doing their jobs to facilitate things complete with a swelling Disney esque song that you just know you’ll be listening to even when your child is not in the car or that could just be me what I totally love if you believe from Lost Treasure in this film we get a look into the change from Autumn to Winter and a look at the icy and sparkling Winter Woods a place forbidden to warm fairies oh but guess who can’t help herself disobeys the rule and crosses the Border I don’t think it’s spoiling things to say that’s right Tinkerbell and from there it gets right into the story no Dilly dallying with Exposition the fairies get ready for winter it’s established that the Winter Woods are off limits boom she tries to go there Tada in the Winter Woods Tinkerbell’s Wings begin to Sparkle and she’s determined to find out why along her Frosty Journey she meets the Lord of winter played by T Timothy Dalton doing his best Liam Nissan impression the keeper and several Frost fairies one of these Frost fairies is named perrywinkle and in case you haven’t seen the previews I won’t spoil the surprise the two fairies become fast friends introduce each other to their group of friends Marvel at their cultural differences and eventually find themselves in a situation where they have to try and save Pixie Hollow again I like the Disney fairies I like that Tinkerbell questions Authority she does research she looks for answers and she tries to change things this is a great film for those of you with Littles there’s nothing scary in it unless you have a thing about ice there’s no villain it’s all about the forces of nature the voice acting is quite good Angelica Houston returns with her Regal Queen Clarion Lucy L is always hilarious as water talent fairy silver mist and of course I adore Jane horx whose back is fairy Mary it’s also not necessarily just for girls there are boy fairies or Sparrow men too with awesome jobs like wrangling snow owls delivering pixie dust and creating amazing machines if you live in Southern California or are planning a trip to Disneyland this holiday season there’s an extra treat in the downtown Disney District this week Tinker Bell and Perry Winkle were on hand for the opening ceremony of an ice skating rink it’s $15 for for admission and $3 to rent skates if you have a SoCal pass to Disneyland admission is waved on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights you’ll only pay for skate rentals to those of us who miss the idea of snow and ice it’s a lovely way to celebrate the holiday season and Perry Winkle has been established as one of the major fairies so look for her in the Parks and uh I guess be ready to explain to younger children how a frost fairy can hang out in warm weather I swear to God that I remember loving this movie as a kid along with the first Tinkerbell movie The Lost Treasure and Great Fairy Rescue this was my frozen sparkling Winter Woods a place forbidden to warm fairies oh but guess who can’t help herself disobeys the rule and crosses the Border I don’t think it’s spoiling things to say that’s right Tinkerbell and from there it gets right into the story no Dilly dallying with Exposition the fairies get ready for winter it’s established that the Winter Woods are off limits boom she tries to go there Tada in the Winter Woods Tinkerbell’s Wings begin to Sparkle and she’s determined to find out why along her Frosty Journey she meets the Lord of winter played by Timothy Dalton doing his best Liam Nissan impression the keeper and several Frost fairies one of these Frost fairies is named Periwinkle and in case you haven’t seen the previews I won’t spoil the surprise the two fairies become fast friends introduce each other to their group of friends Marvel at their cultural differences and eventually find themselves in a situation where they have to try and save Pixie Hollow again I like the Disney fairies I like that Tinkerbell questions Authority she does research she looks for answers and she tries to change things this is a great film for those of you with Littles there’s nothing scary in it unless you have a thing about ice there’s no villain it’s all about the forces of nature the voice acting is quite good Angelica Houston returns with her Regal Queen Clarion Lucy Leu is always hilarious as water talent fairy silver mist and of course I adore Jane horox whose’s back is fairy Mary it’s also not necessarily just for girls there are boy fairies or Sparrow men too with awesome jobs like wrangling snow owls delivering pix sead dust and creating amazing machines if you live in Southern California or are planning a trip to Disneyland this holiday season there’s an extra treat in the downtown Disney District this week Tinker Bell and Perry Winkle were on hand for the opening ceremony of an ice skating rink it’s $15 for admission and $3 to rent skates if you have a soal pass to Disneyland admission is waved on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights you’ll only pay for skate rentals to those of us who miss the idea of snow and ice it’s a lovely way to celebrate the holiday season and perrywinkle has been established as one of the major fairies so look for her in the Parks and uh I guess be ready to explain to younger children how a frost fairy can hang out in warm weather I swear to God that I remember loving this movie as a kid along with the first Tinkerbell movie The Lost Treasure and Great Fairy Rescue this was my frozen before Frozen even came out seriously even though this is literally made for a much younger audience I couldn’t get enough of the cutesy sibling relationship of Tink and Perry but as I finally got older and started rewatching it I have a lot to say about this movie it’s winter in Pixie Hollow where Tinkerbell is guiding some furry friends to the Winter Woods to hibernate however her curiosity gets the best of her when discovering a strange Sparkle in her wings when she enters the woods only for her to be warned about the dangers of The Frigid atmosphere so she wanders into the Forbidden Winter Woods and meets Periwinkle together they learn the secret of their wings and try to unite the warm fairies and the winter fairies to help Pixie Hollow I liked of the World building of the Winter Woods having this very cold ecosystem where the winter fairies live and just as they cannot cross into the temperate Spring Summer and Autumn zones of the rest of Hollow so can the rest of the fairies not enter the Winter Woods I loved the whole long lost sister that was executed quite well that makes Despicable Me three look like a pale imitation in comparison both were born from the same laugh but Tink was the one who reached the pixie dust Tree in Pixie Hollow while perrywinkle was lost by the wind and reached the pixie dust tre’s branch in the Winter Woods the fact that tink’s favorite star is the second star to the right when her and Perry talking about their favorite things is yet another sign of fan service for the characters Tinkerbell is mostly a lot friendlier than in the first three films where once again her curiosity gets into the way however she is determined about her sister after she discovers the secret of her wings being similar to Perry’s as for Perry we don’t know a lot about her other than she’s tink’s sister and that’s about it she has cool ice powers as Elsa but she is a bit Bland yet does have a charm with her next is Dewey he is The Lovable older goofball who ends up being a librarian of some sorts he is kind of the moral tie of the film and is sued to connect the message and the two lands together a lot then there’s Lord meori and Queen Clarion for the former I like that he is very strict but it does not come from a place of needing control for his ego but for the genuine safety of his people I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that him and Queen Clarion had a diance but it is nice enough as for the queen herself I honestly never thought we would learn anything about her who knew she had enough spunk to break the rules and to have a romantic and scandalous relationship this definitely adds a lot to her character and makes her much stronger than I initially thought how can I put this perrywinkle and Tinker Bell’s relationship is comparable to an actual pair of Starcrossed lovers despite the two being sisters though the actual star crossed lovers in Secret of the Wings were Mei and Queen Clarion those were like the Romeo and Juliet but when malori tried to cross his wing broke since winter fairies can’t go into warm weather or else they’ll Wilt until die and so on that day Queen Clarion declared that the fairies must never cross the creek also the rest of the cast are just thrown into the Wayside tink’s friends don’t do anything other than Rosetta who has a love interest named sled which was very last minute but hey at least they’re going to get a bit quirky at night at least she rocks with her winter outfit with a fluffy white handmuff that’s an adorable design Clank and Bobble do have a purpose in one scene but otherwise they don’t serve much other than being goofy comic reliefs as much as I love Secret of the Wings being my favorite as it is interesting how they explain the relations between the two characters though I am confused that there are winter Fair fairies but the other seasons do not have designated fairies other than the ministers I also wish that there is more development with the characters the first three films all had largely concrete albe it mostly boilerplate life lessons to impart about the way that Society works and how to be a well-adjusted human being who contributes things and is liked instead of your typical girly girl who just is obsessed with pink as far as character conflicts go though there’s nothing in here here that has anything to say about anything else the relationship between Tinkerbell and perrywinkle is established so quickly that it doesn’t take and the subsequent narrative cliches are straight out of the Romeo and Juliet handbook which at least amusingly suggests an incestuous reading of the plot though regardless of any subtext it’s important to remain true to your long lost sibling even if it triggers the end of the world because it’s pretty easy to reverse that anyway isn’t really a usable message yeah their sibling relationship is adorable but it kind of felt a bit rushed at least it was better than how Despicable me3 handled it the plus side I will be generous and allow the existence of a plus side is that Secret of the Wings is at least as lovely as any of the movies preceding it owing mostly to its winning depiction of winter landscapes which is awfully pretty it being hard to make even CGI trees covered in snow look ugly hell even the rendering is an improvement from their last films and it is clear that Disney tune was feeling more comfortable with CGI by this point the voice acting is pretty good with most of the cast returned with the exception of Kristen chenowith as Rosetta who was replaced with Megan Hilty which gives a damn good take on that character that you wouldn’t believe that they’re voiced by different people because it’s so damn good also Fawn got recast multiple times during those Tinkerbell movies that’s actually crazy to me so overall Secret of the Wings may be my favorite Disney Fairies movie in terms of enjoyment and heck I enjoyed the god tier soundtrack of this movie The Great Divide totally slaps hard that being said with some issues like the writing at times some of the characters and even the predictable plot that kind of hinders it nevertheless Secret of the Wings is still a worthwhile experience that I recommend
