Kerry Washington in “She Hate Me”

thanks for watching Paradise press ja Jamaican American actors Carrie Washington and Anthony Mackey star in the 2004 film she hate me about a young executive who loses his job due to corrupt supervisors and stumbles on an unexpected new way to make money when his ex-girlfriend Fatima played by Washington asked him to assist her in starting a new family with her new girlfriend John Henry begins to impregnate more and more lesbians to make against me Ley is known for his outrageous movie Concepts set in New York and this film is no exception a lot of questions about sex and identity are raised in ways I’m sure Lee’s target audience weren’t accustomed to Carri Washington has been a consistent LGBT Ally and in this film it gave her an opportunity to play a layered bisexual character at a time when queer black women were even more underrepresented on screen than they are now it’s awesome to see successful people from the West Indian diaspora Embrace inclusivity and accept for all have y all seen she hate me yet I’d love to hear your thoughts about this movie in the comments

  1. She Hate Me truly felt like a film that wanted to tackle multiple ideas at one time, and the film suffers from it. Corrupt businesses, prostitution, male sexual prowess, female sexuality, being lesbian, male fertility and so much more. Too many times, scenes feel best left on the cutting room floor, so it doesn't feel like a wide detour.

  2. Not to derail from the topic of this video, but can you do a video on Carter Heywood? He was a gay black character on the tv show, Spin City. Spin City was a late 90s/early 2000s tv show. His character was met with positive reaction because of his portrayal as a prominent gay black character in a TV series, which was kinda rare at that time.
