Those books are my childhood, along with Babysitters Club and, to a lesser extent, Nancy Drew. But I devoured SVH books as a kid, and my love for them led to a love of books generally. Thanks for the memories Francine.

  2. RIP to the author of some books that I truly adored as a preteen! I so wanted a “Todd” of my own (but of course ending up falling for the Bruces… )

End of an era. RIP to the author that scared me so much I never so much as even looked at a drug during my teen years (Regina, Bruce Patman’s sweet girlfriend dying after being pressured into doing a single snort of coke).

Between them, Sweet Valley High and the Sweet Dreams series were my gateway drug to romance novels. I would buy them second hand with my pocket money. RIP Francine.
