  1. “Imagine if everyone could be massively racist, homophobic, sexist, and not get judged for it? Doesn’t modern society suck, peasants?”

  2. I didn’t know being a decent person was so dishonest.

Thanks millionaire pretty person who lives in a bubble, I had no idea!

  3. people can say what they feel and not be judged the same day people can be who they are and not be judged.

someone going “I hate [insert group]” is going to be judged the same way they are judging that group.

I’m not going to judge you for saying you like apples more than orange, but I sure as shit am going to judge you for being homophobic.

what am I supposed to just sit there while someone views me as garbage?

I would reframe the conversation as “how do we create an environment where people can be educated on why we hold these beliefs rather than just dogmatically repeating them”.

I also think there’s very little forgiveness in cancel culture. We don’t really offer people a road map on how to properly apologize and make things right. We just villainize and write people off versus trying to teach people to act more thoughtfully and compassionately.

Political correctness isn’t the issue, it’s the ways that we enforce these ideas that are imperfect.
