Okay can we give some love to 2000s pop??? I forgot that this music video existed, then revisited it and realized Mya is literally tapdancing by herself and it is EVERYTHING….😭

  1. Context: I grew up with this song (literally had Now That’s What I Call Music! Vol. 14 otherwise my mom NEVER would have let me listen to this😅) and remember the days of waiting to see the top videos on MTV, when the video was such an important part of the experience, and an iconic one was a big deal (feel like sometimes this aspect is lost in 2024)…. I have been revisiting early 2000s pop and appreciating not just the music, but the artistry that went into the videos. I feel like it is unheard of, in 2024, to have an artist featured by themselves for an entire music video, yet somehow this is wildly entertaining. She works a stripper pole, tap dances (!!WUT), and changes outfits so many times, and it is such a fun video to watch. Wondering if any of my other Millenials still love this throwback as much as I do and wanted to share the video to send some love and appreciation Mya’s way!!

  2. I loved Mya—supremely talented artist. The Case of the Ex video is 🔥

I’m going to look her up to see what she’s up to.

One of my all time favorite music videos! Mya really gave us so much during the Moodring era. A shame she isn’t as popular anymore because Smoove Jones deserved better.
