Jenna Ortega Thinks She Auditioned for Zendaya’s Role in ‘Dune’: “Everything Was Very Secret”

I actually have a lot to say about this and i think my views evolved from when i last addressed it.

[This scowling Chani](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F9oj1a4sew7mc1.jpeg) is widely believed to be the worst version of her. Not just the worst Wolverine but a really bad depiction based on a flawed understanding of her character.

After her soul mate was just gut stabbed she starts pouting and rides off alone into the desert. After she was just made Empress of the Galaxy and after centuries of genocide against her people were just ended.

She pouts. She scowls.

It’s very intrusive for one of the most epic finales of all time. It takes away from the majestic galactic level of glory to paint Chani as having a ‘Twilight’ like tween-esque romantic break down in the middle of the most important happenings in all of space faring history.

The critics of the books say Chani never grows as a character so any attempt – no matter how rotten – to humanize her is welcome, but i say she did grow as a person: she learned how to dominate Princess Irulan as her bitch.

I think nearly any actress or nearly any other depiction would be better. I wish it was Ortega or anything else.

I’m petty as hell about this, too. His one character is named ‘Baba Vaus’ he isn’t allowed to speak on this topic.
