I think Liza deserves an Emmy 100%, but The Bear only ran in the Comedy category so it wouldn’t have to go up against Succession.
I do think season 3 of The Bear should rightfully run in the comedy category next year though, since season 3 was a joke.
I mean, The Bear being in that category does shut out actual comedies from being awarded.
I think a lot of people who work on comedy shows feel the same way tbh.
The Bear has kinda sucked imo this season, hard to finish and absolutely not a comedy. Hacks is one of my favorite shows ever, undeniably hilarious and deserving of an Emmy

This is outrageous. Laraine didn’t spend all those years sleeping her way to middle just for her nepo baby daughter to lose at the Emmys!
In all of the stories I’ve read about Hacks and Hannah, and her being showered in praise for being an unknown and her talent being this incredible surprise, nowhere did they mention Laraine was her mother. It doesn’t take away from Hannah’s talent, but it doesn’t fit the “where did we find her?” narrative.
Annoys me to no end grrr. I wanted Carol Burnett to win.
I just can‘t find it in me to care about category fraud in this particular case. I’m happy an older Latina woman (the first to win in this category ever btw) who has been in this business for decades finally got her shine over a slightly better than mediocre 20 something year old white nepo baby. If it wasn’t Liza, it probably wouldn’t have been her anyway, pipe down.

Good – a neurotic, pretentious, testosterone-laced kitchen dramedy should not be stealing opportunities from shows that actually make you laugh.

Just no to the nepo babies parents publicly shaming other people’s win. Her comment could have at least waited a couple of days.
And why not be mad at the Emmy’s instead of a show itself. Because we all know that NONE of these people would take themselves out of consideration if the shoe was on the other foot. Now I hope The Bear never changes categories to make others seethe.
a lot of criticism of the bear for gaming the system by being in the comedy section here but not a lot of criticism of hacks for gaming the system by submitting hannah as supporting when she’s basically co-lead!
I did think the first season of the Bear was actually funny. Ayo Edebiri especially was very funny.
But not so much in S2. Making her character specifically not funny anymore took a lot of the humor out of the show.
