If she was taken advantage of, that is shitty. I do hope her guardian is looking out for her best interest.

Will say though for very legit docuseries, it’s normal for subjects to not get paid at all as that’s seen to be a breach of journalism ethics in the US.

  2. The doc absolutely did a disservice to Wendy and filmed some really inappropriate things that I’m sure Wendy would hate.

However, it also did shine one hell of a light on the people she surrounds herself with and how little they care about her outside of money. If the doc had paid Wendy more (and in turn gave those moochers more money to steal from Wendy), I doubt there would have ever been a lawsuit about how mistreated Wendy was by producers

That documentary was exploitative, dehumanizing and completely inappropriate given her obvious struggles. The people around her did not seem to care about her welfare at all and it was more about pushing the narrative they wanted. You could see she was really struggling and not understanding what was happening around her so I don’t doubt she was unable to consent. I hope she gets people who care about to advocate for her and ensure she is taken care for both physically and financially.
