This is I find a good example of how music journalists really kind of suck. Like… the album isn’t great… but… it’s not that bad? It’s just kind of boring and mediocre. There are in fact worse albums released in the past 13 years! There are worst albums released this year (Vultures 2 anyone?)

But Katy is a convenient target for a bad review.

  2. i don’t feel that bad for her cause she worked with dr. luke and preaching feminism and women’s empowerment and then working with a very well known rapist is not a good look, but i do feel *a little bit* bad that it was this bad cause you could tell how much she wanted this comeback. the desperation for this to be her comeback moment was very apparent

  3. People seem to be confused by how low the score is, I think the main issue is it wasn’t that bad it was something worse, not worth a listen or even criticism. The whole album just blends into monotonous nothingness I can’t explain it.

IDK… Can’t support DR Luke and I didn’t particularly like the album

(except for “wonder”, which I later found out luckily he didn’t produce),

but something in this starting to feel like too much for me. And critics lately just feel very very influenced by the internet and what the critics think about the artist as a celebrity. They also seem to follow waves (good or bad) rather than be individualistic.

  5. I gave the album a listen since one of my close friends is still obsessed with her, and honestly, Wonder was a really cute song. Definitely reminded me of Prism KP but in a good way, not an outdated way.

It’s definitely not an album that I’m going to have on repeat, but I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world either. It still is kind of wild to me that the GP was so hyped for her return just for Woman’s World and the subsequent rollout to be a disaster, though
