50 years ago today (Oct 1st, 1974): Tobe Hooper’s “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” premiered in Austin, TX

All these decades later this is still one of the best horror movies of all time. The tone is so unique and the acting is literal perfection. I also love how there’s no gore but this movie will traumatize you anyways. None of the remakes/sequels have ever come close to replicating what the OG did.
