What makes me mad is how people turned the blind eye when she did this same thing with ALL of her partners. Dating Jay and going to the recording studio with Nath. It's really been irritating me the specific way she's changed her voice and decided to start speaking in her interviews, in that very Disney-esque almost trans-atlantic little girl way. She spent years criticizing people who would do Ariana impressions using that "Cat" voice, because Ariana always insisted that was a stereotyped helpless girl character and nothing like the real her. But now she's reverting back to using the same tone, just now it's soft instead of screechy. But it's the same thing. And Ariana understands the psychology of it, because she's been so openly critical of it before. So it feels calculated to me. Especially when she went on about how it's sexist for her to be questioned about it, because "men do it all the time" – when the absolute fact is that Austin Butler takes the crown for the last most recent previous time a celebrity had a spotlight on them for that reason. She wants to be perceived as a little girl and use sexism as a shield for her actions, while simultaneously not being a girl's girl whatsoever. Every time she speaks lately, that's all I can hear. I thought she was too smart for this. It's disappointing to see her decide to un-learn.
