If the context is correct, he definitely thought it was a sniper.
High power lasers can damage eyes, but if you see a laser and think “this might hurt my eyes,” you close your eyes and (maybe) walk out.
Keeping in mind all the horrific things that have happened at concerts including mass shootings and bombings it makes sense why he would be vigilant. Or the lasers could have been blinding and affected his vision while on stage. With how people have been behaving at concerts and treating performers lately, I would be cautious too.

not a huge Jo Bro fan but if you’ve never had a gun pointed at you, it feels like burning your finger on something, but not being able to pull the finger away from the hot spot. The hot spot is just on you.

Honestly I don’t blame him, I have to assume he thought it was a weapon. The state of the world is terrifying right now, on top of this musicians and their fans have been repeatedly targeted: the recent Moscow attack, the Las Vegas attack, the Manchester bombing, the Bataclan attack & even the on stage murder of Dimebag Darrel. No one feels safe anymore. It’s fucking sad.
Whoever did this and thought it was a funny joke, it’s not. He was clearly terrified, and it’s not cool to put someone in danger like that.
Don’t blame him. There have been happening so many things at concerts. He probably thought he would be dead if he did not run.
