    Menendez Brothers Could Be FREED After DA Announces Resentencing Request

    Erik Menendez and Lyle Menendez’s time behind bars could be coming to an end. The brothers, currently serving life sentences for the 1989 murders of their parents, are being recommended for possible immediate parole following an announcement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney. George Gascón confirmed to reporters in a press conference on Oct. 24 that he intends to file a request to resentence the siblings. “I came to a place where I believe that under the law resentencing is appropriate, and I am going to recommend that,” Gascón said. “What that means in this particular case is that we’re going to recommend to the court that the life without the possibility of parole be removed and that they will be sentenced for murder.” A judge will need to issue a final decision on the request before the brothers’ potential parole is considered. Erik and Lyle’s case has generated new interest in recent years following multiple TV series on the subject, and the brothers’ lawyers filing a habeas motion in 2023 arguing that new evidence backs their claims that their father had abused them for years.

      Not appropriate and there r alot of people who have been violated by parents WHO DONT KILL THEIR PARENTS! THEY R LYING AND THEY WERE GONE TO COLLEGE AND OUT OF THE HOUSE FOR YEARS!!!!       They were both old enough to make a better decision…like, after getting the silver spoon out of their mouths-move out of the house. Send them off to the Ukraine or Gaza to WORK at rebuilding. This position is why I did not vote for Gascon. I am a mental health therapist in Los Angeles

      Free the Menendez brothers. The second trial wasn’t right at all . The judge wouldn’t allow a lot of the sexual abuse testimony. The state was out for blood because they lost the OJ case .
