Buffy Anne Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

It’s so unfortunate Sarah Michelle Gellar never received any awards for her portrayal of such an iconic character.

  2. You’re missing 3 contenders for the greatest female performances in TV history:

    – Carmella Soprano

    – Kim Wexler

    – Nora Durst

    Nora from The Leftovers

    (Btw you have excellent taste!)

  4. just to spite the misogynistic fanbase of breaking bad i’m going to say skyler white. she’s not perfect but i think she made decisions that were practical for her situation, including her affair with ted (which she engaged in to get away from walt who couldn’t stand being told “no” by her)

    uhhh what about Liz Lemon?

one of the funniest, well written characters of any comedy show in history. she was literally the main character of 30 rock.

  6. An older one…Catherine Janeway. Captain of USS Voyager. Entire episodes about philosophy like any Trek show. No man needed to save her any more than a captain needs her crew. No romance needed but still romance is there in small amounts as she balances it with being a commander of a ship stranded from home. IMO a VERY well written character.

Edit: MAJOR KIRA! Has to battle her past as a child under occupation while having to later hold diplomatic talks with the Occupiers!

Guinan in TNG! To this day Whoopie Goldberg’s favorite character she has ever played.

Edit2: JADZIA DAX! Final answer. I LOVE JADZIA

  7. I just finished Killjoys and I’m really obsessed with the complexity and the writing of the characters— particularly the women in that show. Particularly especially the evil women.
