Saoirse Ronan isn’t afraid to speak up, especially when it really matters.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show alongside Paul Mescal, Eddie Redmayne and Denzel Washington Oct. 25, the group was listening to Eddie discuss the self-defense training he underwent for his upcoming TV show The Day of the Jackal when the actor revealed that a combat expert taught him how to use his phone as a self-defense weapon.
“Who is actually going to think about that?” Paul, 28, interjected, mimicking reaching into his pocket to grab his phone. “If someone actually attacked me, I’m not going to go ‘phone!'”
The group burst into laughter, with host Graham Norton also miming the perceived absurdity of the situation, while the Lady Bird actress attempted to get a word in.
Eddie, 42, responded to Paul’s comment by calling it a “very good point” before the 30-year-old actress delivered her reality check.
