but it was a rough night for Caitlyn Clark and the Indiana Fever last night she only scored three points and a blowout loss of the New York Liberty but it was a game on Saturday between the fever and the Chicago sky that had a lot of people talking fans were so hyped for Caitlyn Angel Ree and camil cardosa to all be back on the same court however the moment that made headlines this right here the hard foul involving Clark and Kennedy Carter Eva Pilgrim has that story for us hey good morning Robin as you know there is no love loss between these two teams people were excited to see those rookies on the court together again but all the players on that court giving fans a show this morning this physical moment involving the wnba’s most high-profile rookie raising questions unnecessary Chicago’s Kennedy Carter shoulder checking the fever’s Caitlyn Clark knocking her to the ground the call initially deemed a common foul by officials a little surprised that it’s nothing more than a common foul beyond that shortly before that moment what appears to be an exchange of words between the two on the other end of the Court her and Carter were drawing a little bit back at forth the last few possessions Clark addressing the incident after Saturday’s game I wasn’t expecting it but I think it’s just like just respond come down let your play do the talking you know it is what it is I guess I don’t know while Carter refused to talk about it during the postgame press conference I ain’t answered no cayin Clark questions but defiant on social media posting I love the hate more than the love I’d rather you hate me than love me anytime you have a high-profile rookie who comes with a lot of hype coming into the league there are veterans who are going to want to send a little bit of message that this is still their league this is something that Caitlyn is going to have to work you know to become a star in this league on Sunday the WNBA upgrading Carter’s foul to a more serious flagrant one violation but so far has not announced any plans to fine or suspend her fever head coach Christy expressing frustration we just keep sending all these clips into the league and they keep telling us why we’re not right about our calls but or what we think but we’re going to keep doing it the physicality of the league receiving more scrutiny fellow high-profile rookie Angel Reese was on the receiving end of this blow recently knocked to the floor by Alyssa Thomas Thomas thrown out for the play Thomas gets ejected from the game wow as for Clark the former Iowa Hawkeye says it all comes with the territory I grew up with two brothers and you know things were about you know very very physical a lot of blood a lot of Tears whatever it was so I’m I’m definitely prepared for it and as you mentioned Robin the fever in New York overnight the Liberty with the blowout win over Indiana Caitlyn Clark and Aaliyah Boston both left the game early with injuries but there’s lots of pushing going on yeah a physical game it’s the pro level but that was unnecessary that was a cheap shot it was it was a cheap shot but I love how I I many people appreciate how Caitlyn responded to it going hey I have brothers she wasn’t whining about it the public seemed to have more of an issue with it than the players did and everyone’s talking about women’s basketball this morning and we saw the yes that is true brings them in whatever bring we saw the F Angel Reese maybe it’s something with these young rookies coming in and they’re showing them hey this is a different League I don’t know I don’t know was it when you uh I don’t know but uh well you we can’t discuss how cuz I can’t use language that we use and I can’t do the actions that we did either all right don’t get me in trouble Rob

Should have been a flagrant right off the bat. The fact that it wasn't should raise a red flag for all true basketball fans. Why was this allowed in the moment?? A precedent needs to be set for these kind of actions taking place on a non-basketball play. There was definitely intent to "put a hurtin' " on Clark there. Could have ended up in an injury. Unacceptable. You can't even get away with that on a non-football play in the NFL. And Chennedy has a history. Fine and suspension are def in order here. The GAME definitely can and should be physical, sometimes even very physical…but only as a part of the GAME.

And the conduct of the "referees" is on a par with the conduct of Carter. Worse in a way. It is implicit legitimization of such conduct, instead of repudiation of it and puts the referees in the same category as Carter. And where is the Commissioner of the WNBA, and where are the owners of the teams on this kind of conduct?.
