‘MaXXXine’ star, Zachary Mooren, chats with us!

the new star studed movies expected to top the box office this weekend yes so we are chatting with one of the Stars Zachary Moren about the film it’s called Maxine with three exes good morning Zachary morning how are you guys doing fantastic okay so um I know I’m a tad bit older than you but this movie set in 1985 Los Angeles when Richard Ramirez the nightstalker killer was I was terrified at the time just that alone as the backdrop for this movie is such it’s such a compelling backdrop um I’m curious when you read the script just your thoughts on it because I I’m I’m guessing you didn’t live through that your thoughts on the on on the turns the Twist and just how scary it all is I mean it was a little bit before my time the nightstalker but the script was incredible it was very meta it tied in real life things with uh Ty West’s crazy imagination and um it’s funny when it when we were reading the script at the table read with the whole cast it was like twice as long it felt like a like an Epic Novel and it was interesting the way that he ended up sort of cutting it down to like this popcorn summer blockbuster incredible Thriller and it’s just been exciting to see the whole process so now give folks an idea of what the movie is about because again um this is a it’s part of a Trilogy I guess at this point correct yes uh it’s the third installment in a I don’t even know how you would really place them all together but it follows a character named Maxine minks who starts off in adult film entertainment and is making her way to the top of Hollywood not going to let anybody stop her um the movie stars uh Mia goth who plays uh who plays that that character also but I mean you got Bobby canaval in here Michelle Monahan uh Gian Carlo ESP zto Kevin Bacon what’s it like showed up for work every day on this set and you’re like holy C look at these people here it was pretty nuts I mean uh just the first day at the table read alone like I was saying everybody went around was introducing themselves and by the time it got to me I was like I’m I’m the only person that needs an introduction I’ve been watching you guys my entire life and been huge fans yeah especially Kevin B man I I I grew up watching his movies and seeing him as a chameleon type of actor that he is it’s just really exciting to be in something with him and he makes it look so easy too when he acts does and this is honestly one of his best performances hands down he takes a big swing in it and uh he knocks it out of the park that is saying something that is saying something uh I wanted to ask you about uh Your Love of Shakespeare because your first uh your first actual film that you made is based on Shakespeare not on Shakespeare but we do rhyme scheme the rhyming yeah uh yeah yeah me and my co-writer my friend Ford fanter we uh collaborated on that one to try and um well it’s a film about construction workers that are sort of coming to terms with uh the way they’ve been treating and Cat calling it women and it’s during the me too movement and we wanted to use rhyme schemes mainly so that it made the audience listen and it challenged them in a way that I think if we were just to try and hit that topic it would have been a little too abrasive so to speak this way it made it a little bit lighter and also I contrasted that with very dark gritty black and white film making and yeah it’s so creative I love that all right the movie is Maxine it’s out in theaters now uh and it is it is supposed to be fantastic Zach thank you so much man appreciate you guys got a seat in the theater this weekend Oh in the see that’s the thing too in the theater I feel so vulnerable but you’re right let’s go back to going to the theat it’s a theater movie guys you trust me fantastic Z thank you so much manary nice meeting you
