I think many of us remember Lady Jane Grey? The "Nine Days Queen" of England who met a tragic end as soon as some high-rank men decided so? Yeah, f*** that! In My Lady Jane, Jane’s story gets a total romantasy rewrite with some major twists, including shapeshifters, steamy scenes and a LOT of witty banter.
It’s got EVERYTHING: history, great costumes, elements of fantasy, humor that’s actually laugh-out-loud funny, and characters to fall in love with. The show feels so fresh and light, with clever little comments that make the story feel like the narrator’s in on the joke with you.
And let’s not forget the romance! Jane and Guildford's romance is the absolute, slow-burn GOLD. Their banter is everything, and their unusual situation makes their relationship hilariously unique. Guildford is the absolute king of consent too.
Now here’s the catch:
It’s frustrating when stories like this, written by women, about smart, funny, complex women and decent, supportive men, don’t get the love they deserve. The show got cancelled in less than TWO MONTHS after its release, despite growing fanbase and good ratings all over. History repeats itself, hm?
We need some fan power to make sure this show gets all the love it deserves and Prime changes their minds about early cancellation.
Before you go "Well it's based on ONE book it's obviously getting ONE season" – the show only covered HALF of the book.

This is so true!!! MyLadyJane is a wonderful show, the story isn’t over, it deserves season 2.

Just a few days after it was cancelled, The Hollywood Reporter wrote a piece about how women’s representation on screen and behind the scenes as producers was FALLING. It’s 2024, and women are half the population. Shows like this matter.
Loved this show and wish they didn’t cancel it. I knows it’s a long shot but hope the petition works!
My Lady Jane is a wonderful series, I really don’t understand its cancellation. It’s a slowburn enemies-to-lovers major character canon death fix it fic with a big budget, a great story, and literally every character is the best character. Sweet dreams are made of this.
My Lady Jane was amazing, but it does irk me that these streaming companies set shows up to fail from the get go. I knew the rights had been sold, but I didn’t hear anything about it until like 3 days before the season dropped and was like “what??? they actually made this?!” I watched all of it in a day I was that excited. But dropping it right before the Olympics, not promoting it as well enough as other shows? Then sighting poor viewership 2 months in? It really makes me frustrated, least of all that it was an *Amazon* production.
I’m so sad that this got cancelled. I even signed a petition online for the season 2. Gosh. It was such a fresh take on history (also, I found it to be better than bridgerton). I really wish they promoted it more during its release
