The worlds of sports, entertainment, television and film will collide at this year’s TCS New York City Marathon–the race will feature a number of major celebrities running in support of various causes. New York Road Runners (NYRR), organizers of the race, announced their top 20 megastars set to toe the line on Sunday.
Actor Jennifer Connelly
Most recently known for her starring role in the film Top Gun: Maverick, Connelly is running to raise money for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
TV host and producer Nev Schulman
The host of MTV’s follow-up series Catfish is returning to run his eighth NYC marathon, and his second as a guide for a visually impaired athletes. Schulman has recently recovered from a bike accident which resulted in a broken neck, and is running in support of Achilles International, encouraging people with disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics.
NBC news correspondent Jacob Soboroff
Soboroff, a political and national correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC and an author, will be running on behalf of youth organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.
The Bachelor stars Peter Weber and Matt James
The season 24 and 25 bachelors from TV reality dating show, The Bachelor, are set to take part in the marathon. James completed last year’s race alongside 2017 NYC marathon winner Shalane Flanagan, and is running in support of ABC Food Tours, an organization he founded to battle food insecurity in NYC.
Actor Greg Rijkaard
The soap opera star from Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless will also be running for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Katherine Morikawa, wife of pro golfer Collin Morikawa
Katherine will be running in support of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and will be matching every dollar donated to her cause.
The Bachelorette contestants Zac Clark and Joe Amabile
Both of these contestants from reality dating show The Bachelorette will be running in support of Clark’s Release Recovery Foundation, an addiction treatment centre.
YouTube filmmaker Casey Neistat
Neistat, a YouTube personality, filmmaker and vlogger, is running to support Project Healthy Minds, which fights to improve mental wellness.
Actor Randall Park
Park is best known for his role as Louis Huang in the ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. He’ll be running in support of KultureCity, a non-profit for accessibility and acceptance for those with invisible disabilities.
Actor Claire Holt, TV host Tayshia Adams, model Haley Kalil and influencer Karen Sarahi Gonzales
These four stars will be running for Team Maybelline, the first-ever TCS New York City Marathon cosmetics partner. Maybelline’s program, Brave Together, works to support mental health worldwide.
Actor Carrie St. Louis
The Broadway star will be supporting Broadway Cares/Equity Fighting Aids, an organization that raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States.
Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra
Yatra, a Latin pop artist, will be running to raise funds for Keep a Child Alive, a non-profit organization that supports HIV/AIDS-affected communities in Africa and India.
Comedian Phoebe Robinson
NYC-based writer, stand-up comedian and actor Phoebe Robinson is set to take part in the 42.2K run.
Broadcast personalities T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach
The former ABC news broadcasters, now co-hosting the Amy and T.J. podcast, have taken on the NYC marathon a handful of times. Both stars started the Chicago marathon earlier this month, but did not finish.
TV personality Vinny Guadagnino
Guadagnino, cast member in reality TV show Jersey Shore, is taking on the race for the first time.
